Instacart Expands to Minneapolis and Partners with Target

We are very excited to announce that we are launching the Instacart service in Minneapolis – expanding to our 18th metropolitan area and bringing on-demand delivery to the Twin Cities!

We have consistently received a lot of interest for our service from the community – both from consumers who want to receive on-demand delivery and retailers who want to partner with Instacart to enable this for their customers. These factors lead to an ideal market for Instacart delivery, and we look forward to servicing Minneapolis with the fantastic stores that have signed on as retail partners.

As part of this launch, we are happy to announce that Target has chosen Instacart as its on-demand delivery partner.

That means starting today, customers in many parts of Minneapolis will be able to order food, household, health and beauty, pet, and baby products from Target and have them delivered straight to their doorstep in as little as one hour.  We’re excited to be partnering with another company that believes in the power of innovation as much as we do.

And that’s not all.

Also beginning today, in addition to Target, customers throughout the Twin Cities can order from Whole Foods Market, Costco (no membership needed), Cub Foods, Wedge Community Co-op, Lakewinds Food Co-op, United Noodles and Petco stores and have everything delivered by Instacart. It’s clear that more and more retailers see us as their e-commerce solution for on-demand delivery.

Instacart Takes Off In Indianapolis, IN

We are excited to announce the launch of Instacart’s on-demand grocery delivery service in Indianapolis, our 17th market!

Starting today, customers in Indianapolis can order groceries and other items from their neighborhood Whole Foods Market, Marsh Supermarkets, Georgetown Market, Costco and Petco stores and have them delivered straight to their door in as little as one hour.

There were many factors that made Indianapolis a great place for us to bring our service.

First and foremost, it’s about our customers. We saw a tremendous number of requests from the Indianapolis community to bring Instacart to their hometown. From the influx of young people who are staying and working in the city, to the families and seniors who need more flexible shopping options, Instacart is uniquely positioned to help meet the growing customer demand for convenient, speedy, and quality grocery delivery.

In addition to the outpouring of customer support, we also saw very high interest from grocery stores in the city–from our national retail partners to our new local partners, Marsh Supermarkets and Georgetown Market. By partnering with both local and national grocers, Instacart’s shopping model helps expand their reach to even more Indianapolis residents.

We’ve Expanded Grocery Delivery in Chicago And Added Standard Market!

Exciting news straight out of Chicago: We’ve added Standard Market (hooray!) and expanded our delivery area to Naperville and additional suburbs including Oak Brook, Westmont, Hinsdale, Clarendon Hills, and Downers Grove.

As always, Costco memberships are not required. Customers can also look for additional retailers to be added in the coming weeks, it’s going to be a great summer!

Petco and Instacart Add Additional Markets, Now Offering One-Hour Delivery in 14 Cities

We are expanding our partnership with Petco today! Beginning today, customers in 14 metro areas served by Instacart can order from Petco stores and have everything delivered in as quickly as one hour.

Customers in the following cities can order from Petco: Atlanta, Austin, Boulder, Boston, Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Portland (OR), San Francisco, San Jose, Seattle and Washington, DC. Petco delivery will be coming to NYC later this summer.

Selection is always important to us, and this partnership is no different! From dog treats to toys, our customers can choose from 11,000+ Petco and Unleashed by Petco products!

Instacart expands into the Southeast; Hello Atlanta!

We’ve launched in Atlanta, making us Atlanta’s first one-hour grocery delivery service! Beginning today, customers can order groceries from both Costco and Kroger stores and have them delivered in as little as one hour. As always, customers do not need to be a Costco member to order from Costco on Instacart. Additional stores will be added in the coming weeks, and customers can combine items from multiple stores into one order.

Atlanta is Instacart’s twelfth city, and expansion into the city will bring the service to all corners of the United States as Instacart expands into the Southeast for the very first time.

BONUS: Instacart customers in Atlanta who order on launch day will also receive a free month of deliveries!

Instacart will initially be serving the neighborhoods Inside the Perimeter, north of I-20.  These include Buckhead, Midtown, Downtown, Decatur, Virginia-highland, Brookhaven, West Atlanta, Lenox, Old Fourth Ward.  The company will be expanding to areas Outside the Perimeter in the coming weeks. We’ve Added Plum Market in Chicago!

We are so proud and excited to be the official delivery service for a local Chicago favorite, Plum Market! Located at 1233 N. Wells Street in Old Town, Plum Market is known for its natural, organic, local, and specialty items, as well as having the best selection, best service, and best wine prices in the state. This marks our sixth store offering in Chicago.

Austinites Can Now Shop From Whole Foods Market

Today we’ve added delivery from Whole Foods Market for Austinites! Customers can now combine items from Whole Foods Market, Royal Blue Grocery, H-E-B, Central Market and Costco and have everything delivered within an hour. As always, customers do not need to have a Costco membership to order from Costco!

Our Austin City Launcher Stephanie Thomas explains that Whole Foods Market based on its popularity with customers. “Whole Foods Market has been a terrific store for our deliveries in other cities, and it has been a very popular request among our customers. Now our customers have choices from major chains with an enormous variety of fresh food, to local favorites for the Austin area. We’re excited to keep growing our offering for Austin and will add more stores and continue to expand the delivery area in the coming weeks.” Boom.

We’ve Added Whole Foods Market Delivery in Seattle and the Expanded to the Eastside

Today, we’ve added Whole Foods Market delivery for our Seattle and Eastside customers! This is our third store in the Seattle area; customers can now order virtually any items carried in their neighborhood Whole Foods Market, QFC and Costco stores and have them delivered in as little as one hour.
